MY FISH AHHHH THERE BIG HELP!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They'll grow to the size of the tank only because they'll die an early death.

I agree with Rallysman.

On a side note I dont understand why people get common native gar. They are like the cockroaches of a river and are every where and they get HUGE. Ive caught long nose gars in excess of 50". That is longer then your standard 55 gallon!

They like the aggression I guess.

I wish that fish only grew to their tank size... I would have hundreds of really cool fish in my house but unfortunatly is just isn't how it works, I'll use an RTC as an Example this is a fish which ALOT of us here own and that alot of people here will and have to get rid of because they simply can not house it in a big enough tank... if fish grew only to the size of their tanks then I could see alot more of these guys being kept for life in 150-200 gallon tanks.

There are infact ways of "stunting" the growth of fish however when you do this you are comprimising the quality of life of the fish as well as stunting it's life span as well... it's really inhumaine in my opinion to do such a thing. it's like stunting the growth of a child... just becasue you don't want to buy them bigger clothes...doesn't make sence to have the kid if your not willing to take care of it properly

would it be able for CS to continue growth after being stunt like that......p.s CS=columbian shark...lol

The term "stunted" means that there has been something done to the fish to not allow it to reach it's potential and is being held back. So no you really shouldn't consider trying to "stunt" growth... I for one would never even consider giving advice on how to do it. It's irresponsible to consider it as an option as it affects the life of the fish in a negative way. Consider buying a larger tank, or take it back to the store you got it from if your not able to get a large enough tank.

great choice, columbian sharks are one of my fav. cats but i don't want to dedicate a BW tank large enough to house them at this point. check out the BW section and you'll find a guy with a 75g and some columbian sharks.

wow....I just went full sea salt....now like i cant find any tankmates for my columbians at my LFS
