Sounds like a fungus. Maybe try some Pimafix? Any other fungus looking evidence?

I think fungus is the secondary infection.

Could be shock to the ph change.

ALSO, like the previous poster said, what are your water parameters?

Do more water changes. IF it was the pH-increaser, then w/c should stabilize pH and they should be getting better.

We need more information.

Are they flashing, do they have body lesions, are they breathing rapidly while at the bottom of the tank, do they have white poop, are their eyes bulging out of the heads, WATER PARAMETERS, any recent tank cleaning, etc.....

Keep us posted!!! :headbang2:headbang2:headbang2

I think I found the problem of all of my fish dying. Well, I did water changes, bought chemicals, and medications, and every one of the Electric Blue Cichlid fry, about 100, died. All of them. I am so sad and pissed off. They were about 6 months old, and had a lot of work, dedication, and inspiration in them. Gone. Well, today, I was in the process of emptying the fish tank, and I found thousands of small, pinkish like worms that were as small as a human hair, about 3/4" long averagely. They swam around like eels, or snakes, but were just tiny, and like a pink color...? What are these little bastards that plundered into my tank? Whatever they are, they are dead now, since I poured bleach throughout the tank. :WTF:

Some kind of worm and bad idea ur rlly gonna ahve to rinse the tank now due to ur bleach

Im getting rid of the tank, it is going into the trash. I am done with the freshwater fish now, and am going to all Saltwater, already have one set up for a few months now, and is better than freshwater.

Don't giveup do to this mishap. It happens man. I'm thinking the demise of your tank was do to the minnows not the worms. They brought something into your tank with them. What type of electric blue's were they?

They were Electric Blue Malawi cichlids. I do have 2 alive. I put a few of the ones that were still alive in my 60 gal, and there are two left. They hide in the rocks and driftwood I have in there, away from the big fish. I thought they were dead as well, but I seen two eating today, and then hid back in the rocks. At least there are two left...
