My fish got stolen ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Exactly, I thought so too. It’s a company, I thought it would be trustful. Now I’m missing 3 if my bichirs.
I think jjohnwm was being playfully sarcastic

Did you call the company yet?
I was wondering this as well? Did you try to calling the company? And did you check them out before hiring them to see if they had a guarantee or insurance? BBB accredited? etc? I am so sorry to hear about your loss but it could have been worse especially if you didn't check them out first. Damage to your tanks or worse your home.

Again sorry to hear you lost your fish.

The person who sold me my custom tank recommended the tank movers, so of course I would trust. The movers were called, they said they didn’t do anything, and since the police report was made they said check CCTV surveillance if we want to.

Hopefully the police will find something ?

Sorry I myself don't trust someone's recommendation alone, I take it as a good starting point but I always try to find extra info. on my own, such as reviews, BBB accreditation and the companies policies regarding claims, losses and damages so I know what to expect should something go wrong.

Fish tanks are expensive especially custom ones such as yours. Between the risk to the fish, tanks and my home I personally would have checked beyond a recommendation. I'm not faulting you, just telling you my mindset incase it might be helpful to you in future tank moves.

Then again I also like jjohnwm tend to only trust myself when it comes to my fish and would've moved it myself with trusted family friends of course and if I couldn't move it and hired a company I would have watched the whole move. I actually have a Flat Dolly I use to move my tanks and am planning on buying a lift table so I can move my tanks potentially by myself. Again not faulting you and I know what I am suggesting isn't viable for everyone.

Again I am also very sorry for your loss.

I didn’t really have a say in which tank movers I trust and whatnot, most of the decisions were made by my parents who planned the renovation. I had school during the moving period and my parents were working so we couldn’t supervise the move the second time ?

Lost over $250++. I’m 16 still in school and not working, took me long to save up and buy those fish. Can’t believe and wrap my head that it got taken away… those 3 fish I’ve had for less than a year.
My condolences to you

That sucks. People are messed up. Can’t see how 3 large bichirs disappear overnight and one becomes crippled. Whether they “stole” it or not, those fish went missing/crippled after they moved them so they should refund you, even partially, for the move.

Do you think I should euthanize it? Last time my Florida gar broke its back (crippled) and never healed. It died after 4 months of suffering. I don’t want this little guy to suffer like my gar, that’s why I’m asking this question.
