Yup, there is a pic of someones fingers that has a pair of holes from an Armatus. Dont think it was deep enough for stitches but pics show the blood... forget who the user name was

I think that was Vamptrev,I remember seeing the pictures.Thats kind of a good thing for your tat to act that way, they usually run away and hide when I place my hand in the tank. You seem to have a nice bold one,how big is it?

JD7.62 was his name. The armatus later went to 1badspilo but never tried to eat spilo like it did JD.

Mine(10-11") will charge at me but never do anything. Its just a distress sign. But my charax gibbus at 4" will bite. He is the meanest fish in the tank. And the smallest. lol

One is 6" and the bigger more aggresive one is around 8" Whats weird is one minute there aggresive and the next minute there bashing there heads off the glass trying to get away from me.

My question is do you pull your hand out when they come near you?

At first it did get my attention really fast. lol

But since I have gotten use to it. I just watch for entertainment. Its not like they are mistakeing your hand for food. These fish are supper smart and have extreme eye sight.

They never bite unless its for eating. They settle there quarrels with other fish by charging ,tail slapping and jaw flapping.

That would make such a good scar story when you get old.

But really every fish is different. I collect the teeth sheds from my tat and scombs. And they way i see it is I am a diabetic and give myself shots 5 times a day. And the needle of my syringe's are larger than my 10" tats teeth.

Now if I had a 20"+ armatus I may be a little more careful.

I also beleive that the more youhave your hands in the tank the better. Because it helps them stay calm around people. once they realize you do not mean any harm to them. I get in my tanks weekly during cleaning. And I hand feed my sting ray and fahaka puffer for thsi reason.

Basically its training

** also I would never trust a large toothy predator like these if they were in the middle of a starvation period trying to break them off of live foods. Hunger brings out severe aggression in any animal.****
