I just use table salt. But I have only used it in a 10 gallon (medic tank). No way in hell I would dump that much salt in my 75 gallon....too afraid...lol
I am not sure the salt and the air do much but comfort the fish (constant oxygen helps for everything. and the salt somewhat relieves the mosquito bite sensation maybe)
The temps and quarantine are the most important. For the most part your trying to get the ich off the fish, and fast.
