my fish have swollen pink lips that stick out!

Just like the title says. Its claimed the like of my female Dovii, and now my female Umbee has it. What is it, and how do I fix it?
So far Ive Increase the temp to 82 and added some salt.
Help help help.

The most disturbing thing is that it appears as though the lips are protruding. Like it has eaten something too big.

how can I tell if its bacterial? I also noticed a bit of thin white poo. Sorry no pics.

I would do a water change a bring BOTH of the fish to the LFS you purchased them at, they could help you more than we could helpyou. Visual Helps. Good Luck!

Thanks for the idea, but these fish were ordered from a friend about 2 years ago when they were just fry. I did do a water change and increased the temp, added some salt. No luck. My female Umbee died today. SHe was 2 years old, had 4-5 spawns, and was about 6". F1


This thing worked fast. She and my female dovii, not even in the same tank, showed symptoms and died less than 48 hrs later. I hope I never run into this bug again.

Sounds like a condition called duck lips, which is deadly, and is untreatable. You really should try and get pics, so it could be figured out.
