HOLLY CRAP! Great weekend, had a bunch of friends over and finally layed/glued 99 percent of the pvc for the sump! The decision to put up an air line for all the tanks has stalled the setup and cycling a bit but I hope to have it done by this weekend so I can leave town. Many pictures have been taken so don't worry you'll have something to look at.
 
Was up till midnight last night working on the sump, made a mistake and didn't have the part to fix it so had to stop. Will be out of town but my partner in crime says he'll work on it while I'm gone. When this is done I think you guys will be very impressed. We have an interim plan for setting it up with our expensive to run submersible pond pump(almost 800 watts!) Its supposed to do between 4,000 and 5,000 GPH. After discerning what the flow means for our system we will determine what inline pump we are gonna get. I expect it to be a little giant at this point. All my research leads back to their inline pond pumps as the best efficiency. Sorry still no pictures, will have a GIANT SUPER update all at once chronicaling the whole thing.
 
Ok the system is plummed but there is 2 final things that need to happen, we have to get some fittings for the return lines in the 125 to keep us from spraying my ceiling. And I need to drill holes and attach nipples for the fitler sock rack. Then its test time. I'm picking up a new hole saw bit at lunch as the 2 1/4 was too small after testing last night we need a 2 3/8" hole saw for sure. So Close its going to be amazing tonight might be the night. When its done there will be a super update with pics and a detailed story for the design and execution.
 
round one accomplished, we ran the pump and the plumbing held up! Looks like we could potentially do 8,000 GPH maybe even more on this system as this pump and its proposed 4,000 GPH by itself doesn't overwhelm the 2 125s. We do have an issue though in that the bottom tanks are too low for the overflows to work. It appears we need to do testing to see what height will achieve sufficient flow, we also need to test the DIY overflows on the top 75 gallon tanks. It appears we may well be running tests the rest of this week before making final commitments and filling the sump with media. Gosh it was great to see all this planning and work not blow up in my face.
 
Guys good news everything has been bought and figured out but time is the new challenge as I now work 6 days a week 12 hrs per day. Currently I'm on vacation in Costa Rica and I've set to getting the super system running if not complete before Christmas no matter the cost. We've even figured out elevation and flow for the lower tanks, just need to adjust the stands and glue the last two tanks overflows then its good to go.
