I have a question I have Four RBP the tank is decorated with drift wod and plants. my question is MY RBP will not eat will i am in the room. It is very confusing. I feed them Every other day frozen fish fellit and a pellet. They wait till i leave the room to eat. I would love to watch them eat but they wont. If i stand outside the door they will start eating and if i come back in the room they quit and hide. any info will be of great help
thanks

Maybe your'e ugly and spoil their appetites:ROFL:....j/k

If they are new to your home/tank or even the area the tank is in they may just need some time to adjust and realize that you are not a threat. If that is the case give it time. Soon they will associate you with food and be at the glass begging.

Hi,how big are your piranhas, how long is it that you have them, try noy to startle them as you enter the room to feed them.Try every now and then feeding them live fishes.

Be patient, they will come around sooner or later. It took months for mine to not only eat in front of me but also go to the top of the tank and eat pellets. Just keep working on it and one day they will start..

good luck..

Their attitudes will change as they get larger as well. Also be sure your water conditions are good, it goes a long way in helping them to act natural.

mine do the same thing. I have to stand in the room until the settle down, then feed them and i can watch. If i just walk up and put food in they wont touch it until i leave. Well the little ones sometimes just goes nuts but thats because he rarely gets any of it

haha Im going to use that in my sig if you dont mind.

And to the op, is your tank in your living room or some room that doesnt get a lot of traffic? Once they get bigger and used to you more they should come out more. Right now I feed with the lights off and stand in front and watch and they dont mind me there. Try lights off as well.

My RBP'S never ate infront of me at first.
Took them quite a while to do so and even then if you made sudden movements they would quit.
Don't worry, RBP'S are quite the contary, nervous fish.

i keep my tank at 78 degrees i also feed them when the light is off. The RBP tank is down stairs in our family room it does not get alot of traffic.
