Okay so i have two 3'' Iridescent sharks and ive had them for two weeks. Unless its completely pitch black in the tank, they will constantly swim against the walls of my 90 gallon aquarium with their faces rubbing it. I think they just hate the light and want to get out of it. I have a sand bottom and 2 fake plants but no where for them to hide, i just set the tank up 2 weeks ago. Until i get some hiding decorations what should i do? They have worn small blister spots on their faces from this and im worried if i don't do something soon im going to have two bloody stumps for fish.

oh wow that sux :/ so they dont do anything when the light is off? my blacck con scraped his self on a rock for no reason ugh :( maybe they dont like the sudden light.. do they get much daylight?

No, they act normal when the light is off, when it is on they wont stay away from the damn walls, its definitley a big enough tank for them. Perhaps they are stressed from the vast amount of tank space and/or lack of hiding spots/decor. Oh and im not worried about sunlight, i live in the Boston (MA) area and its winter so its darker during the days now. i leave my house around 8am and work all day with the light off, then come home around 6pm and turn it on until i go to bed at about midnight.

because i would need to go to the store and im busy all week, and i am leaving the light off for now, but during the day they do it too, i think my LFS sold me downy fish.

what a downy fish? like mental lol mine has very bad eye site, so he gets injured and misses alot of food.. but that doesnt sound like yours so idk good luck :)

if i were you i'd probably just keep the lights off until i got some decorations... unless you can work out exactly what the problem is?

just add a couple of slates angled against the back glass. It doesn't take 5 minutes to do it. I am sure you can spare that much time(you have time to come on here yes?)
