My fish won't stop hurting themselves..

Perhaps put a dark blanket over the tank for now. Also, have you tested how the shark reacts to different colored lights? Red lights reduce night blindness, perhaps they wouldn't mind those on their cage. Then you could see them but not have to blind them at the same time.

U could put some aluminium foil or othe heat resistant material on the lid with small openings allowing for small amount of light to go in the tank and have shady areas. I placed wide black duct tape on my lid on the back half and a bit on the front of the lid so only a narrow line of light enters the tank leaving the back of the tank shady. You could do sides and leave the center or make other combinations. Kinda like having floating plants, only without the floating plants :D

That's an awesome idea very cool too.
just add a couple of slates angled against the back glass. It doesn't take 5 minutes to do it. I am sure you can spare that much time(you have time to come on here yes?)
I get home when my LFS is closed. I use my iPhone to access mfk during down time at work btw.
Thanks everyone for responses I have nuff info for a solution now

If they spook this much i would not use the overhead light.. i would only use a night light on the wall somewhere near the tank.. and i would leave the night lite on day and night so it would never be a sudden burst of light.. also if they are small 3 inches. ..{i would keep them in a smaller tank until all the plants and hiding places are established in the 90 gal..even a 20 or 30 gal tank until they get accustomed to their environment.. but the main thing is ... no sudden lights or movement.s... let them adapt calmly..
