My Flowerhorn

Picked a KK Flowerhorn up last week on an impulse buy. I was cruising MFK Tuesday of last week and saw a few post about Flowerhorn and started thinking they actually looked pretty cool. I previously thought they were ugly and goofy looking with the big KOKs on their heads. But I had the urge all day to get one and as soon as work was over I was at the LFS taking one home. Here are a few pictures of mine so far and I look into updating this thread as he grows. Hope you enjoy

I truly hope so. The pictures don't do a justice on his true color. Im currently in the process of purchasing a new light so hopefully that'll help out with pictures in the future. I did also notice that his flower line on the left side of his body extends further on his body than the line on the right. Is this common with flowerhorns to have different flower lines on either side? Personally I think it is pretty cool

More real but less cool huh?
 
The entire FH labeling system is a trendy farce. If it sounds cool it will stick. More real? Like an F1 flowerhorn? lol I gave up a while ago. Actually those markings indicate that he killed another cichlid while locked up at the LFS.

Haha he has killed a few smaller fish so the tears are deserved. I've heard about flowerhorns biting and being aggressive towards people with their hands in the tanks and yesterday while I siphoned the tank he was all over me biting and being aggressive towards me. Can't complain he's a tough guy. Did get the chance to snap a good pic of him all pearled up. Also have noticed that his KOK has grown since I purchased him. Really can't wait for the finished product.
