I dont know enough about FH to make any serious comments but my understanding is there are several variants of FH which have been carefully selected and line bred to fix the characteristics (breed true to type - ie babies look same as parents). Thats why they can be expensive.... so while it is easy to breed 2 nice fish together, arent you undoing all the breeders hard work? Are you going to make your own new strain? This will involve breeding for several generations and continuous heavy culling. Or are you happy to just grow up whatever lives and then swap/sell/give the fry away?
