My Flowerhorns gone dark and not eating :S

I do 50% twice a week tho, so cant see how it could be water quality, my test kit has run out, but i got to the point with my test kit that i just didnt need it anymore because of the way i feed and w/c consistently.

Just done a 70% w/c, hopefully he will eat again soon, his colour came back for a little while when i had the mirror in there, its gone back to purple/dark now.
 
Now its gone back to normal, he keeps changing.

Is there no chance he could be starting to fade/peel?
 
The change to me doesn't look like fading/peeling I'm not sure what to make of it though.
