Maybe your eel is like mine - will only eat pieces of squid. Maybe if you can get like a pair of tongs and just dangle the food in front of his lair, getting him to strike? Once they get a hold of their food, they rarely spit it back out.

when i had one it took about 2 weeks for it to eat. i just put some prawn in its lair and it took it. try things that are fishy. see if that works.

if you've had it a while and its still stressed, even though it has places to hide and so on, it might be your water. now i hate to tell people your water might be of poor quallity (when mine is far from perfect), but with these animals its important your water is spot on. so no offence, but i would definately consider this a factor. do a WC see if it perks up a bit.

with your water it could be 1 of 2 things, either the params are askew, or the sg isnt high enough. G. tile perfer water with an sg of 1.015+. preferably 1.018... freshwater moray my arse. :)

I got other suggestion - leave some feeder ghost shrimps in his tank. He should get tempted to eat them after some time. It worked for a friend of mine, so I'm sure it should work for you. Good luck.

yea i was thinking about the ghost shrip i mihgt try it to day,... and as for his color its not bad he was a lil light in tone when i got him home and in the store but now its been allmost 2 weeks and his color darkend alot more
