my freshwater moray wont eat i need help

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
definitely agree with the ghost shrimp suggestion, or even some livebearers that can tolerate the salinity...that's how I got my G. tile acclimated to feeding back in the day when i had one

just give him time and variety - mine has gone up to 2 months without eating - his favorites are ghost shrimp and 2 - 3 in goldfish

yea im getting him some ghost shrip tomorrow and i just got him some krill and i will have pics of him soon

pics of my eel and his tank feel free to say what you want

i am adding more sand to the tank soon

you may wanna get some more decor in there for it to hide in. moray eels tend to prefer living in cracks and crevises, rather than cavenous spaces. so that may be a reason why its not eating. just stack a load of rocks in there. make sure they are solid so it doesnt knock any over...

in time it will get confident and probably swim freely around the tank. but for now make it as comfortable as possible. get it eating first, worry about everything else later...

This is a very common for people who keep g tile. Mine has gone through the same, just keep offering food like market shrimp amd krill. Like already stated make sure your eel has small caves our it will be stressed and uncomfortable.

ah... he's learned who brings the food. nice one :)

G. Tile are really cool fish. its a real shame to hear when fish starve themselves to death. its a pain in the arse when it happens in your own tank. i had a fuzzy dwarf lion do this... why is it always the cool fish?
