Lol I am too now a days. I did that the first time I set up my 80 but got rid of it because I had too many problems with it. Mainly with the cichlids burying food in it and causing ammonia bursts.

Ohh that's pretty dangerous. I think a thinner layer is better, all you want to do is hide the bottom any way.

Yeah it was back when I had African cichlids in the tank. Was also going to get a geophagus but it just never happened. So after a few months i ended up just making it into a bare bottom tank just to make it easier cleaning the tank. I wanted to get a geophagus pellegrini but I could just never find any for sale.
