Have you tried holding the food near its mouth with a feeding stick? Try something with a lot of odor hit up the bait store and get some chum.

The smoothy is eating like a champ but has an awkward breathing to her. I think she is going to be ok but don't want to jinx myself. the puffer is being held for a friend due to his queen trigger beating it up till we find a new home. it doesn't harm the sharks but eats most of their food too fast. Thanks for the kind words everybody

glad you're still here michael, thought you had moved completely to saltwater. the smoothound would probably do better in a cooler tank, around the low 70s.
which if you decrease gradually, the other sharks could tolerate too

The PJ is a cold water species as well. I have the tank water chilled.. It hovers from 68-72 max right now. By the hour the SH seems to be doing better. Thanks for the advice Wes and get em some k. perch and others lol
