My gar is being really funny

For some reason my gar keeps going through the bubble airator its really funny what is he doing i have enough air in there
 
could like the feeling.

I remember someone saying before that it could drown them i forgot what they said exactly but it was like they tried to collect air though their gills and drowned themselves since gar's have lungs. Dont get me wrong i just remember reading about this somewhere has anyone ever seen this too???
 
likelyhood is that the gar is just floating there unintentionally. i suspect the gar would be much more comfortable with smaller/less powerful bubbles or even better, without them altogether.

Yea he seems to be floating there doing nothing and does not eat I put feeders today and he did not react to it, i have tryed everything to feed him but does not eat.
 
Do a wc. 99% of gar probs can be linked to tankmates, spine and wq. When in doubt, wc.

My smallest alligator gar (~3-4") refuses to eat feeders for some odd reason. It only accepts pieces of frozen whole krill, bloodworms, and small floating pellets; all of those food items are meant for its tankmate (a small catfish). And here I'm trying to grow it out properly by giving it feeders until its larger... :screwy:

Maybe you could try giving it one or more of those food items?

20 gallon he is 4 inchs there are 3 baby peacock bass that are like 3 inchs it has a glass canopy , am getting a bigger tank soon he is only in there for little while.
 
Like I said... Spine, tankmates or wc... U prob got at LEAST 2 of those probs right now. Ill let u figure out which
