I have a flg, that had a spinal injury when he was maybe 4" so very tiny... he's abit crooked in the head now but he's doing well eats normal ect.. so if he did sustain some spinal damage its very possible he'll be fine.

Same thing happened with my biggest comet in my kids "fair fish" tank. top of the tank is like 6 feet off the ground, wifey found him dry on the carpet, went to pick up his body and he was completely dry. then he started squirming so she tossed him back in and he was fine.

Gars do breathe atmospheric air so I suppose if he was kept wet he could last for quite a while out of the water. glad to hear that everything is good though
