Check out Jeff Beck's new bassist! I'm watching the 2007 Crossroads Festival dvd, and this blew me away!!!! The best chick bassist I've ever seen!!!

I love Clapton's Crossraods Festival!!! He gets some of the best guitarists in the world to play in it!!! But yeah, Tal Wilkenfeld was definitely a highlight of the 2007 festival. She was originally a guitar player, but switched to bass 4 years ago!!! She's amazing!!!!!!

Bump for an incredible bassist!!!

I dono pony, I'm more into slap solo's etc, Any average joe could do what she did. She was just playing a riff with her fingers, which is basically like playing normal guitar (which can be impressive), but, I see that as easy, you know, Like, nothing really bassy about it, although she did play it on a bass guitar.

If she added some chords into it, some pops and slap, then I'd be impressive.

Maybe chick bassist are hard to come by?

The solo she did is what I'm impressed with!!! So much musicality! Slap is freakin' awesome!!!!! She might be able to do that, I'll have to check out her material she does with her band.

Slapping isn't necessarily hard either. Any one can play bass fast, and anyone can thrash on a guitar. I've seen a guy that I had given guitar lessons to for 6 months do a very impressive job wailing, but he was sloppy. He was sloppy and he didn't have fluidity or rhythm.

Tal Wilkenfeld is a very good bassist, I've been keeping up with her for a while. But I think she is touring with him, not his new bassist. She's clean, and plays naturally with a smooth fluidity... that's what makes her good.

good point, Yeah, i forgot that she could play within the music if you get what i mean, Like, in the groove, and in the feel.

But it did sound pretty good, Looks like they were just jamming on stage (would have been sweet if they were, but they would've written it all down before hand and practiced.
