I have a 75 gallon with about 100 lbs of rock in it. I stacked the rocks and made a pretty complex rockscape with it, it has a ton of hiding places.

The problem with this is that i bought a gold nugget last week and haven't seen him since! There's nothing in the tank that would have eaten him, or disturbed him really. Is it normal for them to be this shy, or is he probably dead?

I have been looking in between the rocks and looking in the tank at night and can't seem to find him. I am tempted to break the rockscape down and look for him.

give it some time. it may take a few times till he discovers that its food. You could also try stuffing a few pellets in the zucc. to attract him, this has worked for me. good luck- k

Gold nuggets tend to be very shy. Do you have a smaller tank to put him in to show him zuccini is good food?

strange mine is far from shy, he is moving around the tank all day and night. i put cucumber in the tank but the catfish ate it instead of him.

so i never clean the side glass or rear glass, just the front and i also have a lot of rockwork for him to clean :)

I JUST SAW HIM!!!!

The other fish in the tank are just baby frontosa and calvus. All are under 1". He has nothing to be afraid of.

I just can't figure this fish out lol. I have no idea what he is eating.. because the algae is building up. When i put zuchinni in the tank and leave it overnight, i wake up and it isn't touched aside from the frontosa and calvus nipping at it.

What can i put in the tank to feed him? For the 20 seconds that i saw him (literally 5 minutes ago) he was darting around very quickly and then disappeared into the rockscape that i built:irked:

I need some ideas as to how to get him to be less shy and come out and show off!
