Just thought I'd show you guys my lovely gold Severum. I've had him since he was the size of a 50p coin and is now about 6 inches long. Such a nice calm fish that never bothers any other fish.

nice male. I have one thats about 3" currently and I had it since it was tiny, and I find that Severums are not aggressive per se, but they are very territorial to similarly shaped fish. Likes to be in charge of my parrots but ignores my Snooks and SB texas. I really would like to get some more severum buddies for him someday.
I had a male years ago that was really aggressive for no reason. I found that the gold ones in my experience were more aggressive than the Rotkeil I kept

Nice Sev.. my gold gets along quite fine with a very large Oscar and adult male JD. He gets right in there at feeding and dont back down from either larger fish. I also have a pair of greens and a super red in another tank, very nice fish, easy to care for.
nice sev! I had a red spotted gold that grew to 8-9 inches. had him for about 5 yrs or so, was the size of a quarter when I picked him up... he just recently died like 2 months ago tho

.. awesome fish!Thanks for the comments guys. I've had him just over a year and he's grown from 1inch to 6 inches. Not sure if that's normal growth but seems pretty slow to me? I had a Rotkeil too but had to sell it as he was a nightmare for bullying the other fish, including a cichlasoma bocourti that was much bigger! I'll definitely get more sevs when I have room.
My gold is about 2 1/2 and around 8ins, give or take a little. I think your guy is doing just fine at 6ins.
