MY GOLDEN SEVERUMS HAVE BRED !!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
IMO= in my opinion, yes egg crate/light diffuser is a plastic grid with 1/4-3/8" square holes. the solid parts are about 1/8" wide and it is around 1/4" thick.
For a side vieiw go to the search button and type in "no more ghetto divider"

Hi Guppy

I think all the eggs have been eaten as i wasn't quick enough to get a divider in the tank. And i can't seem to see any fry so live and let learn.

Now that they have paired and bred they will probably try again, sometimes even the first time parents eat the eggs< I have had it happen with angels that later raised spawn just fine but both the bard and spiney eel will raid nests and so will most catfish. Yoy might get yourself that divider and set it aside for next time if you don't set up a brooder tank. A thing I used to do to speed breeding was bump up the ammount of meaty live foods I gave them, like appropriately sized worms. Don't feel to bad, this same thing happened to Iheartfishies a couple days ago.

Ugh sorry to hear... separate the pair to its own aquarium so they can breed uninterrupted next time?

Yeah i know that is the most sensible idea and please don't think that i haven't thought about it but to perfectly honest i can't realy aford another tank at the moment but as soon as i can i will but one !

Yet again Guppy your words of wisdom have helped ! Thank you.

I knew that some cichlids do eat there own i,e Angels not too sure which others as i have not ever done breeding before, I am definatly going to in vest in another tank so i can use it as a brooder tank, Just out of curiosity do male severums eat there own ??? thats if you know ! OR IF ANYONE ELSE KNOWS

Thanks Gup !!!

Congratzzz....
best is try to move other fishes to another tank...
just leave the pair of severum inside the tank....
it will be more peaceful for them...
