My good deed for the day.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I walked into my small local grocery store and saw a note on the bulletin board saying "lost IPAD, reward" so I gave the guy a call and long behold it was a concerned father that says his son lost it while leaving for Rome. We arranged for me to drop it off at the guys house (a short 30 second drive) and for me to collect my $50 reward.

I plan to turn down the money and just keep it as a good deed, in hopes that he'll do the same if he ever finds something that somebody lost. :)

Well its done.

The guy showed up at my door a few minutes ago. I insisted upon him keeping the money several times and he insisted I take it. Back and forth we went untill he said "what is this, the battle of the hardheaded" and we laughed. Finally he physically put the money in my pocket and walked off thanking me.

So now I'm stuck with $50. Oh the humanity! :D

What to buy... hmmm

Am I the only one that thinks that not stealing should be the norm? Besides....Anyone with any sense knows that if you steal an ianything, it will be tracked? So you decided not to take the felony charge, then brag about it in public....hmmm good job? lol

What an odd response. lol

How do you figure I stole it? I'm not just going to leave it there in the middle of a road at 11:00pm at night for a dishonest person to come along and take it only to sell it later. I also didn't decide "not to take the felony charge", I decided that its only right to return lost property to its rightful owner. I also dont see any bragging going on. I'm just sharing an odd story the happened to me.

Sorry everyone I guess I should have just kept my mouth shut... I'll go back to posting about fish from now on.

ROFL!

Sorry I just have to add...

I'm not your typical idiot that walks around with a cell phone stuck to my ear and has to have all the latest gadgets. I've never owned anything from apple and furthermore had no idea that there products can be tracked. Non the less even if I did know that, I still wont leave someones expensive gadget (that someone clearly lost) laying in the middle of a road.

If you found someones wallet would you just let it sit there, or would you pick it up, look at the ID and try to contact them to return it? Your post makes no sense at all.

yup, I'm thinking it fell off a car roof or something.

My poor friend Lauren did this with her Sidekick back in the day and that's when they were like 250$. This was the third one she destroyed too. Poor girl couldn't keep her Sidekick alive for the life of her.

Cody I think you got a little side 'errr' here, no one every mentioned stealing it as an option... one of those days huh! :D unless we're just not all understanding you..

OP it's lovely to know that some people still take the time to do such a nice thing... you should be proud of yourself.. there are not many people who give a crap about a total stranger anymore... WE'RE a rarity!!;)

Thanks. I'm not religious but I've always believed in good and bad karma. ;)
