Yes. You are right. In winter i put heat in the african cichlids tank 20c. No problem. They breeded at that temperatures.

In the one i'm preparing for the rays i will put some heat to, in winter. From November to March.
 
Its a nice setup, but it looks awful in your back yard....I'll let you keep it in mine though if you like, and then you can do some nice herbaceous borders.....

I found a big growth of yellow orchiddy flowers and some kind of mint in the river yesterday...they look cool in my tank... Its heavily planted, with cloud minnows but i'm too scared to turn off the filter lol. My head tells me it'll be fine but.......

What fishes do you have in there? Perhaps if you take some out and try with less fishes. And slowly you introduce more fishes.
