My Green Texas was beaten overnight, should I euthanize?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Must say I personally have never had a fish come back once at that stage.

Yeah I was thinking the same. Kind of figured it would come to this. Sucks, she was a sweet looking fish. I'll keep it as humane as possible, thanks for your insight guys.

All finished and everything went as well as could be expected. I knew when I went in with the net and there was no resistance that it was time. As a matter of fact I'm going to make that my deciding factor from now on. The hard and fast rule I was looking for is if they do not resist netting then they have lost the will to survive. Either way I had a clove oil bath prepped and the fish was dead almost as soon as it hit the water, under ten seconds. Thanks again for the help guys.

I don't think I can sell a fourth tank to my wife regardless of how good of an idea that is. But I hear you, it would be ideal.

Lol my 10 hospital tank became a normal tank I house a small bonsai Flowerhorn in there until she gets to about 4 inches and I'll remove her. She's at 2 inches and bred once already.

Sorry to hear about the Texas. Similar thing happened to one of my fish felt so bad. Mine was a 14 inch Midas who killed his wife and she was 8 inches

My thirty started as a hospital tank until nothing was sick and I put a couple grow outs in there. I can't keep an empty tank. I go to the store and think, I'll grab this fish, I've got the space for now. It does suck but for the most part it's hard to expect so many naturally territorial fish to get along indefinitely. Weird when they snap overnight but I kind of expect it every once and a while. Sorry about your fish too.
