Well there is a lot of equipment that goes with planted tanks. From root cables, to co2 regs and solenoids. It gets very costly, and you will at some point say, "am I freaking retarded, or just plain stupid?" But in the end it is all worth it. I personally would go buya good aquarium plant book, these are all good options: "Aquarium Planted Paradise" by Takashi amano, "aquarium plants the practical guide" by pablo tepoot, and "Encyclopedia of Aquarium plants" by peter hiscock. The Hiscock book is really good for beginners, and the amano is great for all in the ways of planting and inspiration. Start there, and decide where you want to go. If you do want to go full out, then there is a lot to learn. Take a lot of time reading, because this portion of the hobby can get expensive quickly, and you can lose a lot of fish/plants with just a little carelessness.
