My group of pleurophtalma

I couldn't find out exactly what happened to my platinum but I deduced that, as the tank was partitioned, the partition plate's holes were too small to have fresh water flowing in. I than found one or 2 pieces of uneaten prawns wedged among the rocks and decorations, perhaps the water became too polluted :(. Was a very foolish and easily avoided mistake. Apparently it was quite bad, as i did do some WC before and it still didnt prevent the death. So could be some interal problem as well. Very wasted.

As for your pleuros, I wish you good luck. Hope to see a feeding video, it should be fun. They are very very fast hunters :).

It was finally time to move them from the growout to their (hopefully) final home.

Alert to the fact that they don´t react well to changes in the water parameters I transfered them with the water of their previous tank.

Firstly I removed 2/3 of the water of the new tank (pic taken during the process)

Then filled it up with the old tank´s water

And finally I introduced the pleuros. They are currently between 4 1/2" and 6".
I took some quick pics with the phone. Blurry ones and with the water still a bit cloudy. See them as a preview for future (and better) pics

They are still a bit nervous with the move, but will settle in no time.

In this tank I also have:
- 3 leopard ctenopomas (3-4");
- 1 agamyxis (2");
- 2 BN plecos

The agamyxis to eat the leftovers during the night; the BN plecos to eat the algae and the ctenopomas because I like them.

We´ll how long this combo works If/when it doesn´t I´ll remove the others and keep the pleuros alone

Tks !
The plants need to grow a bit more to look the way I´m aiming at, but it will only take a couple of months.

Look forward to seeing pics :) I think as I've gotten more into the hobby my appreciation of aquascaping and plants is as much as my appreciation of the fish lol.

Very nice setup. Your pleuros would love the space. I think my ones are about an inch shorter than yours. What do you feed them and how often?
