At first I thought male because of pointed dorsal , but it keeps digging pits and looks like its trying to pair up with the Texas and male convicts quite a lot
Its the only one ive ever had so no expert ;)

That's nice to know I was sure mine was female (acts like one anyway)
 
Little update , I decided to put a few fish in the main tank out of the growout all seem to have settled in fine , the albino plec has cleared all the alge away in one night and seems to be fine with my ray ( fingers crossed it stays that way) , the Niger cats sat chilling with my other Niger :)
And the female JD seems to be trying to pair up with my big male jag , he's twice her size though so it could go horribly wrong in next few days he won't accept any male cichlids without a fight so I thought I'd try her seems to be fine atm feeding together ;)
I'll try upload few more pics in couple of days
