I’m new with gulper catfish and I want an opinion from someone experienced with this fish so my gulper I would say 4” that I got 2-3 weeks ago has stopped eating it ate 2 times I fed it talapia since where I got it from that’s what it ate it’s the same exact kind to I want to switch it’s diet but for a little I’m going to stick with talapia yesterday I introduced an Oscar in the tank it is 5” and the tank is a 40 gallon I’m going to move the gulper to a 75 gallon when he gets bigger and the Oscar to a 125 I just think he is to small for it right now but this tank is not fully cycled yet I have done it before I put fish the same day well this tank cycled for a week before and I think the cycle is almost done I put in seachem safe and stability daily so the amonia is not toxic for the fish and if it doesn’t end I will just put a sponge filter in but the gulper is refusing food it’s last feeding was 4 days ago but since he is a baby I want to get him to eat once every 3-4 days is this a good amount for him should it be more or should it be less? And he isn’t eating it what can the reason be

FL: ... I introduced an Oscar in the tank it is 5”
TBTB: A 4"gulper can eat a 5" oscar, beware.

FL: but this tank is not fully cycled yet
TBTB: This is always the problem. Tank should be cycled first, then the target fish should be introduced. ... How do you know it's not cycled? Tell us please your test results and how, with what test kit they were measured.

FL: I have done it before I put fish the same day well this tank cycled for a week before and I think the cycle is almost done I put in seachem safe and stability daily so the amonia is not toxic for the fish and if it doesn’t end I will just put a sponge filter in
TBTB: What doesn't end?
TBTB: Are you saying there is no filter on the gulper's tank at all?
TBTB: What about nitrite toxicity?

FL: but the gulper is refusing food it’s last feeding was 4 days ago but since he is a baby I want to get him to eat once every 3-4 days is this a good amount for him should it be more or should it be less? And he isn’t eating it what can the reason be
TBTB: (Sorry, I am trying to help you in the short amount of time, so not beating around the bush. I hope to be wrong. I do.) ... The reason sounds lost likely is that you appear to be a maverick, who decided to do the fish keeping his way and against the most basic, known, and established principles, which ensure success. Running a tank with no filter and detoxifying ammonia and nitrite with the SeaChem chemicals is not how it is done. You will prove it to yourself soon...
TBTB: Your greatest worry right now should be to have the fish is a proper, established, cycled, stable tank, not to feed your gulper every 3-4 days. But before we go on talking about this, it'd be helpful to know the answers to our questions and more info on how you are going about this.

TBTB: Again, we aim to help you, please, don't read it wrong, we don't judge you, most of us, myself included have done what you are doing or similar before, so I am not lecturing from a high chair.
