How do I determine male or female Liberifer?
Realizing that this new juvenile is only 4in and a crummy picture.

Probably still the worming in the face and the trailing fins. No experience with this species though.
 
Liberifer does not have worming in the face.

Male liberifer tend to have black freckles on the face and body while females do not. However, I’ve had males in the past with no freckles, and I had one big dominant female with freckles who I was sure was a male until she laid eggs. So while it’s a pretty good determiner of sex, it’s not 100%.

Tried getting both sides and face but it’s a shy little bugger

IMO it’s a little too young to know for sure.

I just hoping the few freckles don't become a full face of freckles and it turns out to be a female :hearts:
