My hi fin spotted pleco pooping sand???

Idk if anyone else has had this issue before but I have a fine black sand substrate. And now there is clearly sand and not much else in the plecos poop in the tank. Is this going to harm him at all??

An understandable concern, but they know not to eat just sand. I have heard of some sand substrate ending up in Pleco fecal matter, but it's not detrimental from what I've read. I plan on transferring my Pleco to my 90 gallon when he grows, and it has sand substrate.

Maybe he is sifting the sand for food, and is swallowing it together with whatever he is taking into his mouth?

I've had my royal for a week or so and he eats sand I'm shure but is a major poop monster so it passes just fine

Yeah I figured it wasn't to big of a deal because he is passing it so it's not blocking up his digestive tract

When you blanch the zucchini it removes most of the nutrients.
