That toms canister will not work on your tank. I've used 1 on a 10g and it isn't very efficient. You'd be much better off getting a quality HOB, such as an aquaclear.

I have a 29g with a Rena XP1 on it, but then again I like over filtration

my tank was a top fin starter kit, so i doubt the filter is exceptional...

what exactly is clogging??? the pads just getting filled up quick, or is it just ur intake tubes/impeller..

i figured out what happened...a lot of gunk crap just got built up in the tubes.
