ok i have been traveling 2 miles round trip to get 15 gallons of water and it is getting old. MY WATER AT THE HOUSE IS WELL WATER AND IT IS HARD WATER AND IT SMELLS LIKE SULFER. WILL THIS BE GOOD FOR MY FISH IF I USE IT FOR WATER CHANGES. I DID A WATER TEST ON IT AND HERE ARE MY RESULTS. PH 8.6 ALL OF MY NITRATES 2 AND 3 ARE AT 0PPM AND MY AMMONIA IS AT 0 PPM. SO I KNOW IT TESTED OUT WELL BUT WILL THE SULFER SMELL AND THE IRON IN THE WATER HURT MY FISH. I HAVE BEEN USING SEA CHEM PRIME FOR MY WATER CHANGES.
please get back to me as soon as possible so i dont have to travel anymore to get water. tonite i will be traveling 6 miles to get 45 gallons of water. PLEASE HELP

Wow, that sux dude!

Well I have no idea, but that being said if I had this problem. I would take some water to the local LFS and ask them to test it and see what they say.

From all the articles I've read I've never seen one that said sulpher would hurt fish, although you might want to do some research yourself if you're worried. I've got super hard well water, too, and my fish do wonderful with it. Although it doesn't smell like sulpher.

If he used RO water for water changes he'd eventually have 100% RO water in his tank with no minerals whatsoever & a kh of '0' which means no buffering capacity and his tank would crash. The alternative is using all those buffers and quite honestly that's not for the faint of heart, it'd be a pain in the butt. If the water is deemed safe for human consumtion I would bet its fine for fish.
