My Indo ate my Thinbar!!!!

1 of my 7"+ IT's just ate my 1" baby Ntt
I thought that tigers would not eat other tigers
I put some convict fry in for feeding and the IT went after the same fish as the Ntt, and the unthinkable happened.. The IT ate the little Ntt and the convict...Now the IT's mouth is all extended and getting red around the outside..Is there anything I could do? I tried to remove the Ntt from the mouth but it was too far down. Am I gonna lose my IT also??
PLease help..I took some pics but could not get a good shot..

The spikes of the NTT might be stuck in the Indo's throat, I would say if the IT can't completely swallow the NTT it will die also. I would take the IT out of the water and try and remove the NTT again, use some pliers and be very slow and gentle, try pushing foward to dislodge it and then pull back again, just like you would when you go fishing. I've never heard of Dats eating each other but you never know...

Net the indo out of the tank, remove the thinbar because it may choke the indo.

The IT seems to b doing fine now..His mouth is back to normal, but his stomach is enlarged...

How could he have know better? Big dats never eat small dats no matter the size differnce? I've read in the dat forum of 12"+ dats being kept with 1-2"dats with no problems at all. Only time a big dat ever ate a smaller dat was if it missed at a food/tankmate nearby. So don't go telling someoe they should know better with the way you post
