I should have been updating this, kinda forgot about it. But the diagnosis of lymphocystic seems to have been accurate. It's only been about 10 days but starting yesterday, there has been huge improvement. For the week before that, the bumps got bigger and bigger, turned bright red, and just looked terrible. Yesterday, they turned white, and since then have shrunk considerably.
I didn't use any medication, just kept the temperature at 82 degrees, and made sure to keep some salt in the water. I did 25% water changes every 2 days.
For the worst part of the virus, he wouldn't eat anything but live giant danios. Now that he is doing better, last night he finally ate a whole bunch of tilapia. His color is still not good, still very very dark, but that might have to do with the fact that he is in a 20 gallon tank.
I do have a question for anyone that might know the answer, once the datnoid is better and back in his normal tank, how do I kill the virus in the 20? I had been using it as a grow out for 2 peacock bass (currently about 2.5"), they are in a 10 gallon until the datnoid is healed. Do I need to completely dry out the 20 and anything in it? Or will the virus die after some time with no host?
