He is my biggest and favorite fish. He is only 3-4 inches (will measure when I put him in his new tank). But he is nice looking and not very aggressive at all!

Sorry for the crappy cell pictures! Anybody have ideas to beef him up? He is small for his age.

Great colors, will be big and nasty soon enough!

I feed him cichlid staple and wardleys cichlid flake until i run out and i am buying some omega one and cichlid gold. He also gets a worm a few times a week and the occasional rosy red.

Also sorry for the crappy cell phone pictures. You can't see it in the pictures but his fin tips look very nice with a bright red color.

the omega one will do good for it, also just keep doing water changes and the rest, and it will be a monster soon

Looks good. Keep up the water changes and varied diet, he'll be monster in no time.

NO FEEDERS!!! ;)

Wouldn't eat them in the wild, don't make him eat them in captivity. Simple as.

No need to feed them if hes on pellets anyway. No nutritional value. And you know what they say.

"Killing small animals is the first sign of a serial killer :D"

In all seriousness, most cichlids aren't piscavores and i cant stress that enough. Their opportunistic Omnivores, Insectivores and Herbivores, with the small few feeding on fish as a staple, and these are heavily specialized in that vein (Emporer Cichlid and Peacock Bass (not a true cichlid, but definately showing hugely similar evolutionary traits) for example.)

I know everyone likes to think their mini monsters will eat anything that hits the water, but the real question is... Should they?

Either way, just my thoughts on the subjet. Take it as you will.

Ps. Not a personal slate, just my own pet peve ;)

PS - I think he is a she...

it looks awesome!
