:welcome: to MFK i got the Xanthic jag of a freind he's on here named as Bolty he got it from some women who thought it was a female ad said all cichlid go yellow if they are femaleLOL!!! id like to see pics of your fish :)!

well i guess i should keep you all updated soo here you go..

the male has eaten all of the fertile egss that i can see and left the unfertile, white fluffy ones... so i guess its a better luck next time..

Have they moved them to a diff place in the tank?
when there tails was wiggling [in my tank!] he would snap them and chew, I was thinking he was doing that in my tank when he bred with the female you have now, but when I did a water change I moved the rock and there they was.

He has never ate any eggs when he was with me, not even his 1st ever spawn, however he did chase snap and chew-up and spit out the fry when they got to about an inch

Sorry to hear the male ate the eggs. I think I am going to try to breed my male again if i can find a nice female. Gotta move some fish around and buy another tank or 2 first though.

My Jags just laid eggs too, I hope you don't mind me putting these here. My Jags aren't nearly as cool looking as yours so I don't want to make a new thread. The male is over 12"...I got him as a little guy from my lfs a couple of years ago. The female is wild caught from Nicaragua purchased from J Rapps. I'm not even close to as good a picture taker as you are.

they are not wrigglers yet, maybe they have moved them although i cant see them anywhere else, the female is also brutally beaten and just sitting under then plants breathing slowly, although she is beaten for trying to kill the male for eating the eggs so.... idk what sgonna happen next although if they have moved the fertile, i know they have left all the unfertile on the rock.

No joke I was serious...your pics come out clear and nice. Either you have a better camera than me (mine is crappy I'll admit) or your Jag is extra photogenic...maybe both lol.

lol thats out of loads of shots lol, and the camera is on a phone, the sony ericson 810i lol! thanks anyway!
