I think they are like this because there is sand stuck on their slime coat that they got while digging

That can sometimes fool you into thinking they have ich. I've been fooled a couple of times, panicking until I realized it was just sand, lol.

It's the sudden onset of the lethargic/not eating that would worry me, besides not properly caring for the fry. Not caring for the fry could be from being new parents, but I doubt it. If the eggs got to hatching, the parents should be caring for them by at least gathering them up into one spot.

Again, I hope all ends up well. Good luck.

will the frys make it with out their parents? i didnt wanna go there but i might have to prepare for the worse.

If there's food and no predators, it's likely most will live. Are the parents still acting the same?

yup the parents are the same might even be getting worse the males tip of the fins are turning white
what medicine would be best to heal em and would if i do put medicine would it kill the frys?

That, I don't know. I'm not really sure what their problem is. You could try and post the symptoms in the "Fish Disease and Health" forum. Or maybe start a new thread in here for more traffic with a different title. Like maybe "Help, my jags are sick after breeding" or something like that and list the symptoms.

I'd really think the priority would be getting an API liquid test kit and testing your parameters, and doing water changes a whole bunch. If your tank always just housed your male jag, and then a full grown female was put in with it, it's possible the biofilter bacteria could not keep up with the additional bioload and you are experiencing a mini-cycle. It would really help if we had an accurate accounting of ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels. Not knowing if your parameters are bad, again I'd really focus on the water changes, you'd be surprised at what clean water can do without meds, especially when you aren't sure what the problem is.
