Yes, this can happen a lot with cichlids, there are many stories of two females pairing up, eggs coming and eventually becoming infertile. Hope you have a real pair.

i hope its a pair. i got both around the same time, from different store and one is definatly bigger then the other. I tried to get both in the same pic but they move around too much. unfortunatly, more eggs have turned white. probabably about 33% of them. i guess ill just have to see what happens. there is another jag in the tank that no one likes.
just a quick update. although tons of eggs turned white, and i was begining to doubt i had a breeding pair I HAVE BABIES ill get some pics up soon
Congrats! It's an awesome feeling isn't it? Good luck with them. As a heads up, I used Hikari Baby Brine Shrimp frozen cubes as my food to my Jag fry until the started eating off of sinking pellets. After 3 weeks I started grinding the pellets and baby brine shrimp together, and now they eat off of whole sinking pellets.
thanks for the food tip. ill have to pick up some food soon, i just order half pound of plankton and there's usually crums and shake at the bottom, thats what ive feed baby convicts in the past.
