My Jags

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nice pair, I love the gold variant. The male looks to be beastly when he puts on that additional size, he has a good start! Good luck with the spawn :)

Your best chance of putting some weight on these two is to seperate them from time to time, let them eat and stop trying
to breed or fight, My jags started breeding at a young age and they never ended up as large as my others. My male jag is older then my dovii and RD but at four years old topped off at 11 inches, my female only at around 8 inches total, There were times between two and three years old that we were having eggs dropped every 4-5 weeks consistently for over 6 months, at one point we had four different ages of fry we were growing, Jags can and will breed a lot,
To be completely honest we had at one point 400 1 inch fry in many 40 gallon plastic tubs in our garage,
All of this from one pair of jags, Seperate them and they will grow keep them together at all points
they will only want to breed and protect a spot and never really look or go crazy for food unless it came to their side of the tank and even when it did you male will eat rarelly will my female would never eat if it was any where breeding time she wouldnt start again until we had free swimmers

Thanks for the info, I have been thinking of seperating them before long, in hopes of putting some size on the male.
