I would say you have a male there mate, but WoW in the tank he looks smaller than he is!

thats what i thought.,,even to the point with the net,took out the middle sized one and got him in itand had to change to the xtra large net....

Is there something wrong with the Managuense? In a few of the photos there appears to be some kind of wound. And is that yellow mass still there?

And just my two cents...but you should stop taking him out of the water. Every time you handle the fish and especially lay it down on a hard surface to take a photo you take a chance on causing injury or infection.

yes mate that was a 1st and last time....id netted him from the tank and as i was putting him into the bucket he jumped to the floor so picked him up and thought as camera was there id snap a few shots,i never usually handle the fish....the red area your ref to is under him and the other stuff was the poo,it came out just like poo when he went into the bucket....i was told by lfs to remove him and rearange the tank then put him back after 1hour so i did...he seems more at home in his new area and only chases fishes out of the area now..
