my jaguar/texas cross

was this the same fish when it was younger? my jag is paired up with a texas in my tank. i might have to take them out and let them breed me a batch of fries lol.

looks like mine at that size,and very similar pattern.both a jag and texas seem to be easy to pair,try it if you have tank space,mine is a nut,glass banger,of course he can't have tank mates.i would not even try to breed mine without a divider

No offense man but that pattern in fish face looks like the pattern of a carpintis not a cyano....I think father was a Carpintis.

It does look very carpintis but with hybrid you cannot be sure without seeing the both parents.
 
He might be infertile, dunno how closely related they are but many times male hybrids are infertile. He's awesome though, if he was fertile I'd love to see him crossed to Green Texas.
 
I have plans to make a fertile texas jaguar hybrid it would be 62.5% carpintis and 37.5% jaguar. If I can find a fertile fading male RT I would use that. Chances of me finding one especially with my budget is pretty slim.
