No explaining this type of behaviour. i had a huge LMB once that for some reason took a liking to one out of a group of feeder goldfish i put in the tank, he would eat everything else but that one. That dang goldfish lasted thru hundreds of feedings, could swim within inches of my LMB without a strike, when all others were lunch. Guess they became Buds

i have a similar story but it was with a pirahna and a goldfish friend...that sucks i know exactly were you are comming from i had my 15" silver eat a 4" tsn and not tuch 2" crayfish or sunfish...my 10" gar ate a 4" yellow bullhead and leaves the other bullhead the same size alone...i now have 3 5" tsns and i floated the bag to see if the aro and gar would be good but they tried to eat them bag and all...this same pair didn't eat a 2" rtc that was in the tank but ate the tsn sorry for your well understood loss...next tsn you get do like i am in a diff grow out tank and test the waters every now and then...gl with the fishes

i believe it, my 8in jar eats 4 quarter size shrimp a day!!!!!
