Yeah I did ask the lfs store what s/he was eating, and they told me they her just feeding him/her guppie feeders... and I don't wanna feed feeders... I haven't had a problem getting him/her to eat crickets, meal worms or earth worms... but pellets/sticks has been a whole nother story.. Still not eating them regularly but s/he has eatin a few on a couple different occations now... wish s/he's accept them a tad more eagerly...

Once the jar is accepting pellets/foodsticks, I will not try going back into their favourite meal like live feeders. Maybe when they're much bigger will I re-introduce some feeder like worms or frogs but not now for me.:)

i kind of just figured if my jar didnt eat what everyone else was eating... he would eventually give in. i just stopped worrying about my jar so much... he can take care of himself as long as i give him good water and food.

I know I can keep my jar growing and healthy...but i rather feed him/her full balanced nutrition with enough vitamins minerals and color enhancers to ensure that s/he grows up to be not only a healthy but a beautiful specimen... aslo in the long run bulk pellets are cheaper and I don't have to worry about gut loading crickets and falling asleep too chirping at night...

back off a bit on the meal worms and the crickets now, let him just eat the pellets .. once you get him going on pellets just use the other things as a treat once in awhile ,... thats what i would do now... ;)

I know I really need to but I've been week hahaha:screwy: see i want to power feed my jar so s/he can out grow my oscar and I was going to give one last try at coming them... I'm also hoping with the growth of my giant gourmi that the aggression can be spread more evenly and that they will be able to co-exist somewhat peacefully.. and I still have so many meal worms and some crickets laying around, when I see s/he doesn't eat it's hard not to give him/her what s/he want... But for the next few days or so I am going to be strict. I feel I need too....

you have to look at it like this..if you were getting icecream and peas.. you may skip eating the bla peas and wait it out for the icecream.. what you want to do is make him like those peas and forget entirely about icecream.. then later when he is loving and looking forward to those peas who can introduce other things.. powerfeeding is not beneficial to a having a healthy arow.. feeding small meals a couple of times of a day is okay.. but arows were not meant to eat big meals and if they did eat big meal then they are likely to go on a hunger strike.. just like us if we were over stuffed.. and over stuffing or power feeding will not grow out an arrow much faster..all that nutrician is wasted because the body only takes in what it can use and what it needs.. the rest is waste that you have to clean :D This is my opinion.. but over feeding fish is asking for trouble.. my hubby reminds me on a daily basis. first priority is keeping tank water pristine and your arow will be super healthy and grow fast. ;)
