Update my jar in a comm tank. People keep saying that you can't comm a jar due to their aggressive nature. To me it's a total BS and in my opinion, the aggressive level of arowanas depend on individual not within species.

nice...i am growing one out for a com. now...that is the same aro or do you have more then 1 in there?

I agree wth willtang- yours is an exception- it doesnt change the fact that most are killers

not all Jardini is aggressive. My is in a community tank as well..

nice Jar BTW!

Well did an experiment back 2007. Bought 8x jardini around 4" grow them up to 18" and only two become aggressive. Did another experiment on comm of 5x silver and 5x jardini on 2008 again only 1 jardini become very aggressive. It deped on individual not within species. Even a silver arowana or a black arowana can become a killer if they are very aggressive. I used to have one 16" silver that shredded a a 20" jardini almost to death.

If you compare all arowana species I would say RTG and green is the most aggressive as I never had an RTG that backs down from a fight. Even shredding jardini bigger than it's size. Been keeping arowana for 9 years and in my experience it's the RTG that I notice that is aggressive. Their are more jars in comm tank out there not just me. Some even keep with some smaller fish.

Very interesting experiment you conducted. Although it should be noted that the arowana's grew up together from a smaller size therefore, the hierarchy could have been established at a younger age before the arowana's hit the agressive size.

The first experiment were kept in separate tanks then later added together when they hit 14"-15". The last one with silver aros were together.

The jardini that I have right now is from one of the experiment. I'm keeping him as it's looks nice to me.

i did an exp with mine also...i put it in a tank were the fish were more agressive then it was to "break" it into a you don't f with me i don't f with you...and so far it seems to be working...this aro was the agressor in the aro tank when i bought it...i agree with king-el that it is all on the fishes personality not the sp.
