My Jewels spawned :)

So while I was away for the weekend my Jewels spawned. How long does it typically take for their eggs to hatch?

Awesome. The eggs should hatch in 3 days or so I think.

I figured it was about that long. They spawned in my 125 with all my other big africans, so hopefully I'll be able to get most of the fry out and into one of my 10 gallons. I'd like to raise a few. Probably give them away once their grown a little.

Congrats on the spawn! If you keep the fry with the parents, they won't spawn again until the fry are removed...a good thing if you don't want a million jewelies. If you remove the fry, they will spawn again soon.

As for sex, the males are always larger, and the females redder. So that's dad in the first pic and mom in the 2nd.

well IMO your half right, males are bigger yes but they are also normally the redder of the 2 with the female being darker, great looking jewels, good luck with the fry.
