Hey guys - some people have asked, and here is the answer.

I run a live fish collection for a university here in Wisconsin. Im not entirely sure - but I am going to attempt to confirm in the next year that I maintain more families of live fishes than any other museum, zoo, or facility in the state.

Here is a link to our facebook page - please like us and feel free to comment on stuff!

We operate on a $500 anual budget, so most of my job is finding ways to make things work for cheap.

Its nothing special yet, but we are building, and getting bigger and better.

We also dont have pictures of everything, but the FB page is in its infancy.

Let me know what you all think, thanks, Forrest

Nice collection. You have a little bit of everything. Do students/professors use the collection for teaching or research?

My job description technically is to create and maintain the most diverse group of evolutionarily important and different families of fish as possible.

In addition to that is simply aquiring the fish, feeding, cleaning the tanks of and overseeing other employees.

We are just starting some research - this facility was goldfish, tetras, and cichilds when I got here. It was a poor collection of petco fish.

Id like to think we are headed in the right direction.

Awesome job!

looks good!

Thanks guys!

Lastly I would like to say that because of our finances - we are desperate for anything. If people have food they dont like - or anything just laying around I can give give tax write offs etc etc.

Tried to get sponsored by various food companies several times but have never heard back.

very nice.. interesting great job..

Nice man, I am looking into something similar to get into.

I really got blessed. Started volunteering here as a freshman in college second semester, and before the semester was over I was the manager.

We are looking to expand more - and do more research but really need help - and more dedicated young people coming up the ranks.

Our universities fish program (biology, husbandry, and aquaculture) are expanding and blossoming right now, partly due to a group of students and a motivated professor leader. We are shaking things up.

We would love to have more people come and join us. Check out UWSP if you are looking into colleges!

Thanks red devil!

To everyone we always love to do tours - let me know if you are ever in central WI.

We also do fish adoption - if you have a large monster and need to get rid of it there is a good chance I can do something with him. Let me know and we might be able to work something out.
