Yea low grade do, its more of a green/brown/tan color.

EDIT: sorry I thought you meant the forehead where blue is missing, I think the yellow in the last and next to last pics is just lighting, not an actual color of the fish.

that's a thai silk. very rarely will you find one with blue covering the entire head and if you do it will cost a lot. Can't tell if it's a male or female though. im guessing its probably a male

It takes awhile for the blue pearl to close in around the head but it will get there. The blue coloration is like a full body pearl and like a lot of other fish the pearls around the top and head of the fish come in last. As far as kok goes most males end up having nice heads don't know why somebody said they dont.

Alot of Thai silks don't have full blue coloration over their head, that's a fact, alot of them still have an uncolored line running down the middle of the forehead. Also a small percentage of males will develop a nice size kok, I don't know if that's specific to Thai silks genetics, but you seldom see males with those huge kamfa or even zz like koks.

that's an interesting thai silk. why does it have black on the fins and tail like that? i've owned a few and never had black on the fins like that

my lfs has three Thai silks like that. The black also eventually makes it to the body some times too. Almost as if they were fading? ?

I don't know he got the darker colors as his fins grew longer. It seems to be going away.
