bettagurl;1994278; said:Nice GSDs everyone.. I have one girl now who's about 14, and a black male who just passed this christmas at 16.
Dutch(the female) is about 100 lbs now, Mo(the male) was around 115 when he was young. Dutch's grand Sire was a very well known GSD, he was on more than one cover of show GSDs, when I find her papers I'll find out his name.
Mo was such a good boy, I dont think I'll ever get another dog like him, he was so smart, and very loving,( unless you were a cop who walked in the yard lol) he saved my little pom mix from some stray who was attacking her, man when he ran towards that dog he jumped off of her and flew the other way.
And recently when he was 15, a man came by our street and was telling my 5yo neice to come look at something he had to see if it was hers. The second that man got withing 15 feet of her Mo ran out and got between her and the man, I've never seen Mo look so vicious, he was drooling and snapping the whole time but not leaving her side. And that's when he was an old boy, he never bit anyone without reason. Tink(our APBT does that now if Tia(my neice) is out by herself, she'll sit right on her feet until whoever it is passes.
Dutch is 13 in these pics. Mo is 14-15.
IVE HEARD OF A Gsd grabbing a baby's diaper while it almost fell from a window...terd ferguson;1994522; said:I'm sorry about Dutch, but that's a cool story and one of the many reasons I love GSD's. My family has kept GSD's since my grandparents were young parents. Your story reminds me of a story my grandpa told me about when my mom was a toddler. She and her sister were playing in the yard and she started going towards the street. Their GSD at that time, Jezebel, had grabbed my mom by the diaper and wouldn't let her move another inch until my grandpa came to get her. There was another story of a pots and pans salesman (door to door sales were a lot more common in the '50's) who almost got eaten for getting a little too close to my grandma showing her a big pan, lol.
I love these dogs and I love to see others love them too. Many thanks to sabotage for starting this thread.![]()
